I received a free full size sample of the newest foundation release from Marc Jacobs Beauty, Shameless in the shade Tan Y440. I was not expecting it to be as good as it is because I did not care for MJ’s previous foundation release, Re(Marc)able Full Cover. After reading about it, I started to understand why the finish of the foundation feels so soft to touch. It has Blue Daisy Extract and Snow Mushroom as ingredients to help with hydration to the skin as a beauty benefit.
What I loved the most was that this Shameless Foundation provided a soft matte buildable coverage that I did not have to keep applying and remained skin like. I have several discolored areas on my cheeks and jaw line that I did not have to color correct prior to using this foundation, which is always a plus for me. The formula was thinner than most other foundations that I am currently using but I certainly did not have to use a lot. Altogether, I may have used no more than a nickel sized amount for one application to make sure that I got the coverage I needed for the dark areas to be covered completely.
I also like that the squeeze bottle and small outlet makes it easy to squeeze out small amounts to help prevent wasting it. As a bargainer and beauty enthusiast, I hate wasting product especially foundations that are closer to $50. This Shameless Foundation is $46 on the Marc Jacobs Beauty website online and Sephora stores. A great way to try it before you buy it is to get a free sample in your shade at your local Sephora location.
I did wind up going to Sephora to get a different shade, Med. Tan Y420, which has a Yellow undertone but looks mildly neutral to me. I needed a lighter shade coming out of the Winter season. I am sure by the end of Spring going into Summer Y440 will be an exact match after my natural tan sets in. I did not see a difference in the way it set and both shades provided the coverage that I prefer.
I am delighted to add both of these to my arsenal of Foundation! I have to say that this foundation is going to definitely be a favorite because of the way it photographs. In the description of the foundation online it says that it gives ZERO flashback while providing sun protection with SPF 25. Marc Jacobs Beauty was not lying and I was impressed at the lasting power against the Texas humidity.
