The Gingerbread Spice Palette and Holiday Collection

Hey Lovies! You know that I have an undying love for Too Faced Cosmetics, right?  I got the Gingerbread Spice palette and a few of the newest lippies as well.  Last year, the Gingerbread Man Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick was released and sold out before I could get my hands on it.  It was re-released this year along with Gingerbread Girl which is a few shades darker so I got that one instead.

I have quite a few lippies and palettes from Too Faced at this point.  I always see blogs and beauty babes talk about how similar brands make their palettes.  Too Faced Cosmetics and Anastasia Beverly Hills are two makeup brands that are always thrown under the bus for their themed collections and palettes being stiff in variety of color.  There will always be a certain duality on that topic but I think we have to keep in mind that these brands are dedicated to “Simply pretty and elevated glam.”

The Gingerbread Spice Palette comes with 18 shadows retailing for $49.   There’s a really pretty duo chrome shade called “Hot Toddy” in this palette that goes on gold and reflects pink-ish orange.  I always suggest using Too Faced eyeshadows with a primer instead of a concealer as a base unless the concealer settles evenly.  By the way, there’s a direct link to my first tutorial where Hot Toddy is used in the left panel of this page.  You can also find it on my YouTube channel.

Too Faced palettes really never have any fallout as far as pigment goes so I knew that I didn’t have to worry about that at all.  It smells really good as I expected it too.  In the look above I used the Gingerbread Spice palette, the Dew You Foundation in Honey and the Gingerbread Girl Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick.  My face smelled so good and periodically I would catch a little whiff and be reminded that I’m wearing Too Faced products.

I feel guilty sometimes about buying new lippies, glosses and lipsticks but it never applies to Too Faced. I know I don’t need anymore but they keep making them in colors that I want to wear. LOL!  I think that it’s more so the formula than anything that attracts me.  The mattes don’t dry my lips out and the colors are long lasting and stay put without flaking off. The texture is more velvetly than any other brand that I have tried and I think that’s what keeps them on top with me.

I  seriously adore this year’s Holiday Melted Matte Lipstick Collection.  There are four colors included: Pumpkin Spice, Sugar Cookie, Cinnamon Bear and Hot Buttered Rum.  It is a killer mini liquid lipstick deal that I had to have.  If you are new to their products and want to try their lippies this holiday season, I suggest you start with this lip collection.  It has plenty of variety for $25.
