What are Probiotics?

Probiotics are GOOD live bacteria that can be taken from fermented foods/drinks and yogurts to promote your overall health.  They are microorganisms geared toward helping your immune and digestive system directly.  I started taking probiotics over a year ago to help with regulation and digestive issues.  One difference that I noticed after a month was that I was way less gasous and seemed to maintain my weight while taking them.

Let’s not confuse Probiotics with Preboitics

Prebiotics fermintate once they reach your gut while Probiotics have already been through the fermentation process before you ingest them.  Some forms of Prebiotics are foods like onion, the skin of an apple and  garlic.  They are naturally built to fermintate in while in the body and turn into good bacteria upon entering the stomach. It is considered the long version but natural way of processing foods but most people don’t eat raw onion and garlic so the opt for Probiotics instead.

I been taking a new (to me) brand of Probiotics for the last month is brand called Daily Body Restore. I have been taking 2 a day. The instructions do say to take 2-3 capsules only at different times throughout the day but 2 works for me. I was taking a different brand of probiotics before these and was kind of curious to see if my balance would be disrupted. The Daily Body Restore made no disturbances to my balance when it comes to digestion. I also get sick around the holidays every year but only had minor sniffles to a runny nose.

I’m really only used to seeing 1-3 different kinds of Lactobacillus in my Probiotics but this brand has a total of 6 along with 3 kinds of Bifidobacterium. Altogether, 9 kinds of Probitics totalling 13 billion CFU (colony forming units) per pill. I think that they work very well for regulation. Here is a skincare combo that those with eczema, dry skin and hyper-pigmentation should know about and consider. Lots of beauty lovers have heard of skincare essences but don’t know about the benefits. I’ll be explaining the benefits of using these particular products and touching on the antibacterial properties associated with them. The best part is that these Everyday Essence Organics products are natural and don’t contain harsh chemicals.

I have been using the Skin Therapy Platinum Cream two to three times a week for the last 4 to 6 weeks consistently. Prior to that, I had been having breakouts at least once a month for various reasons. They’d surface after touching my face a lot, switching makeup products, living in the city, diet, hormonal changes etc. No matter how much I cleaned my face or with what, I’d still have a pesky breakout.

After trying the Shilajit Anti-Aging Vitamin Mist I knew that this had to be the reason that I hadn’t been having breakouts like before, currently. I would have the minimum being a bump or pimple here and there but no massive gathering in any one are that I had to concentrate on. I think the best way to use these products is directly after cleansing like I have since late October. I like wearing it overnight so that it soaks into my skin. I’d occasionally spray my pillow as well with this essence.

Colloidal Silver

Colloidal Silver helps disinfect the skin. It is also said to help with Rosacea, Diabetes and several other skin related conditions. This cream left my skin feeling very smooth in the morning with the tied ingredient of Shilajit in it with a combination of 85 ionic vitamins and minerals together. I had success using the Skin Therapy Platinum Cream resulting in less patchiness and dryness on my eyelids and brows.

I have actually written about Shilajit before. It’s quite often associated with another name, Fulvic Acid. It’s a type of tar that can be found in different mountains and is a natural antioxidant. This is also found floating around in these two products along with other vitamins to help restore your skin to it’s best.

*Disclamer: The photos were taken at two different times. The lighting looks different in the two pictures above but have not been altered in any way. You can see where the hyper-pigmentation began to break up more around the jawline in the second photo. The skin closer to the chin and mouth areas are definitely less patchy.

I give the combination two thumbs up because of the results. I do see how effective they are especially together. I do see some reversal of the hyper-pigmentation that I have and how they help amplify your natural glow. I think they do help the overall health of your skin. The best part is that they don’t have the stinky chemical smell and aren’t harsh at all.

I encourage anyone that prefers natural skincare and has dry skin/eczema to try these products out. It could also be a great natural alternative for diabetics that cannot use traditional lotions sold in store but please consult with your doctors about the ingredients before giving it a try to be sure. You can find both of these products on Everyday Essence Oraganic’s website along with more information regarding their benefits.

I was recently able to try SBR Nutrition‘s Liquid Supplements.  I had never tried supplements in liquid form before.  I am so used to seeing vitamins being sold in pill and powder form that it almost came as a surprise how well these taste.  When I think of the words supplement and vitamin I instantly think of the weird after taste associated with them.

SBR Nutrition Heran Park

I was gifted their Vitamin B-12, the Hydration formula and the Biotin liquid supplements.  I was expecting them all to have a strange after taste but SBR found a way to eliminate that.  The Biotin and B-12 supplements have a very light natural vanilla and cherry flavor. I was impressed by that because most flavored supplements usually taste artificially forced.

The main advantage of taking a liquid supplement is that they dissolve into your system faster.  I am pretty familiar with the Biotin and Vitamin B-12 so I decided to focus on SBR Nutrition’s Hydration Formula. Since this is a beauty blog, initially I wanted to talk about Biotin but after researching the ingredients it became apparent that the hydration formula is well worth the conversation.  I found it to be interesting because it isn’t a basic vitamin formula.

The Hydration Formula description:

Ingredients: Shilajit, Lycium Barbarum (Goji Berry) Extract, Organic Aloe Vera (Leaf), Purified Water, Organic Grape Alcohol

SBR Nutrition brings you a premium quality hydration formula with fulvic acid, humic acid, over 74 trace colloidal ionic minerals, electrolytes, amino acids, B vitamins, an array of enzymes and unique polysaccharides.

I found this formula effective. It definitely made me feel good throughout my work day while adding the drops to my water.  Staying hydrated is a very important part of having healthy skin and having a healthy functioning body.  It’s one of those Beauty Tips that I feel gets overlooked but should be talked about more.
