Dear Wine Lovers, Try the Mumba!

Let’s talk about another pleasure in life beyond beauty for a few minutes, shall we? Wine! I love wine especially on late afternoons while trying to relax after a long day.  My favorites are the bubbly kinds like D’Asti’s and fizzy reds.  Occasionally, a bubbly, fruity sangria is a great wind down for me.

The issue is that I would feel forced to finish the bottle within a few days because they lose their “fizz factor” after opening them.  I don’t drink wine every day so of course they have to be stored away until glasses are out again.  The traditional wine plugs and re-cork corks seem to do okay as far as spilling goes. However, I wondered if there’s something out there that would help prevent them from going flat so quickly.

I was gifted this Mumba Wine Preserver. It’s a hands free device that sucks air out of the bottle to help preserve freshness. It is said to help preserve the wine for roughly two-three weeks. After trial and error, I found it very easy to use.  As long as you place the cap on correctly it will store securely.

You simply place the cap on top of the bottle opening then place the Mumba on top of the cap where the black rubber is.  Tap the Mumba button on top once and let it do it’s thing. The glowing light will stop emitting when once the round of suction is completed. You also have the option of using it twice in a row if you don’t plan on coming back to the wine for a while.

The stoppers are rubber instead of cork and seem to hold very well.  Four different colored stoppers come with the Mumba.  This was also great to me because I drink different wines depending on my mood and the food I’m having.  It makes it easy to store more than one at a time which is a plus.

It closely resembles a pepper shaker in my opinion. It could camouflage easily at the dinner table or where you store your cocktail party tools.  I think of it as a great gift to a friend for Girls Night or for the general wine connoisseur.  One of the best things about this wine preserver is that you can use it over a hundred times before you have to recharge it.

In my opinion, the Mumba makes it easy to restore and come back to.  To remove the cap you can simply thumb push it up gently and enjoy.  To give a fair review, the wines that I tried it on lasted me one week each based on two people drinking from the bottle.  Neither of the wines shown in the pictures above seemed to lose freshness.

Neutrogena HydroBoost added some things!

I was selected for the “Work it Like an Icon” Neutrogena Campaign and to my surprise something new was in the Hydro Boost line up.  If you have read my blogs or followed me on social media for a while then you know that I love Neutrogena Hydro Boost! There was a new Hydro Boost Sunscreen with SPF 50.  It was perfect timing as well because I was unsatisfied with previous trials with sunscreens.

The most irritating element of wearing sunscreen for me is the white residue left behind.  The other effect is dryness. To my experience, some sunscreen lotions make my skin feel really dry.  That resulted to my choice in using spray options instead. I am also used to only using SPF 30 so having an experience with a SPF 50 made a difference.

I think this Neutrogena release slipped passed me.  I usually keep up with my favorite brands really well but I had no clue this was out.  After trying it I feel like it is what I was looking for.  There’s no weird white glow and because it’s a water gel it sinks right into the skin with no problem.  It has really good moisturizing elements and feels really similar to Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost Gel Cream for Dry Skin.

Something else that I had not tried yet from the Hydro Boost line was the ($8.99) Hydro Boost  Plumping Mascara.  I was only aware of the Healthy Volume version of Neutrogena’s mascara.  I really loved the Healthy Volume version because of the formula and the lift it gives. The formula is geared toward growth while the Hydro Boost version is geared toward a hydration and making the lashes look fuller.  Still a health benefit and they still look naturally beautiful.

The Hydro Boost Gentle Cleansing Lotion ($8.99) is a must have item for me for removing makeup.  It breaks through Kat Von D’s full coverage foundation.  If you use this foundation then you know that’s impressive. Not many makeup remover options remove it without having to continuously rub in the same spot until it comes off. Not to be mistaken for the gel version, this one is simply a remover not a wash.

Last but definitely not least,  the precious ($2.99) Hydro Boost Overnight Gel Mask! I usually pick a couple up to use during the week.  Honestly, purchasing two of these little pods last me two weeks.  It’s impossible to use an entire pod on one application.  At the most I use a quarter sized amount after washing and exfoliating before bed two to three nights a week.  I rinse in the morning and go about my way with soft skin all day.

Neutrogena continues to be one of my Top 5 Skincare brands.  However, seeing is believing.  Pick these products up wherever Neutrogena is sold.  You can also order them directly from Neutrogena.com.
